What are the academic strands being offered in the SHS?

PSD SHS offers four academic strands, namely Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); Accountancy, Business Management (ABM); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS); and General Academic Strand (GAS)

How do students qualify for STEM?

To qualify for STEM, students should have an average of 85 in both Mathematics and Science Subjects in their Grade 10. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the Department of Education in the Philippines.

Is it possible for Non-STEM graduate to take Science related courses in the university?

Yes, Non-STEM graduates can still enroll to Science related courses provided they take Scince Bridging subjects. Also, different universities have different admission procedures.

Do you offer Bridging courses in Senior High School?

Yes, SHS is conducting a Science Bridging program to respond to the needs of the Non-stem students and be able to enrol in Science related courses here in Qatar or in the Philippines.

Will the MATATAG Curriculum be implemented in SHS?

Yes, the MATATAG Curriculum will also be implemented in the SHS in the coming years. In fact, the SHS Curriculum is already being revised.

Can students wear non-PSD jacket if it is not a PE day because it is too cold in the classroom?

SHS would like to establish order and discipline. For security reasons and to strengthen the sense of identity, students can opt to wear the PSD PE jacket or the SHS strand jacket. An officially approved vest will also be released soon to be used by the students for them not to feel cold while inside the classrooms.

How many days can SHS students file for leave of absence?

SHS students can file for a leave of absence for not more than ten (10) days. If students incur 11 days or more of absences, the student has to attend a make-up class and he or she will be disqualified from the Laureola Awards and Institutional Honors.
