The K1 students of Philippine School Doha (PSD) scheduled their swimming activity from September 23-30 in the school’s swimming pool, which enabled the kids to gain new knowledge and experience without sacrificing the element of fun.

12 K1 sections were able to swim under the guidance of the class advisers, classroom attendants, and pool guards. There were two different sessions per day which were from 7:00-10:30 am and 11:30-3:00 pm. Some parents also chose to volunteer in watching the kids, so that no problems would be encountered.

Equipped with their floaties and swim vests while dressed in their appropriate swimming attire, the kids were able to have a fun-filled activity. It was a combination of learning and enjoyment, which enabled the kids to gain experience in a physical activity as well as knowledge regarding safety. Furthermore, the kids were also able to boost camaraderie and form friendships as they all joined together in learning how to swim. Laughter and squeals of joy reverberated in the swimming pool area as the kids did their best to swim with all their might. The parents and teachers who were present also enjoyed watching the kids engage in such an activity.

This truly served as a great experience for the young students as they learned a new life skill and bonded with their fellow peers. As they continue to grow, the skills, knowledge, and values they learn at this age will hopefully follow them into adolescence so that they may become great stewards of our nation
